Stately Antique Dark Oak Library Chair

Stately Antique Dark Oak Library Chair

$1,950.00

This 100-year old solid oak chair has been revived with an antique, hand woven, camel saddlebag textile on the inside back and new blue leather on the seat. It's been completely stripped to its bones and built back up using old-world upholstery techniques and materials, including eight-way hand-tied coil springs, coir-stuffed stitched burlap for the seat structure, and horsehair stuffing. Traditionally upholstered, there is NO FOAM in this dark oak chair, as befits the stately antique it is. We've used blue linen on the arms and banding. In the picture frame outside back, we've exposed ivory hemp webbing, and lined it with ivory linen. Pewter studs add detail. The scroll arms and baluster legs with an H stretcher add a sculptural element. Patina looks and feels great.

As striking as it is comfortable, this exceptional chair will last many more years, now! Use it in your paneled library, or anywhere you'd like a little old world/modern style. Also Jacobean in style.

For clarity, the seat front is 26.5" wide, but the orbs in the legs measure 28", outside to outside.
