I'm Leslie Howard. I have always had an artistic eye and productive hands. I have always made things, collected things, painted things, fixed things. I love re-doing a piece of furniture, painting a canvas, designing a wedding, sewing a window treatment, cooking a great meal. This blog is a chronicle of some of my furniture makeovers done for my business, City Girl Arts, which specializes in the decorative arts. I paint and upholster furniture, and create acrylic/mixed media artworks from my home studio in St. Petersburg, Florida. I also collect, refurbish and resell antique and vintage items that appeal to me. You can find my furniture, art, and finds for sale in my Etsy shop.

I have raised and home-schooled three terrific boys with my loving and generous husband in St. Petersburg, Florida. Our home used to be just outside Washington, D.C., my favorite place, which is why I call myself City Girl!
